Welcome to the Itasca Chapter of Lets Go Fishing. Our team is proud to be a part of such a worthwhile organization. Itasca County is "The Land of 1000 Grand Lakes". With over 1000 lakes within our borders it's easy to see how being on the water has been a big part of our lives. For our seniors who are no longer able to enjoy the lakes due to a wide variety of reasons, Lets Go Fishing will offer our seniors a true enrichment to their lives.It has been a wonderful experience. We have met so many wonderful people and the positive response from the community has been outstanding.　 Seeing our chapter grow and being able to bring this program to Itasca County has had a great impact on our community. Bringing people together for a common cause and seeing the smiles on people who use this service　is beyond words. These past 3 year have been such a great experience and we have enjoyed working with and being a part of this wonderful organization.
We offer both fishing and excursions cruises for anyone 55 years and older, and our program is open to seniors in nursing homes, assisted living, and individuals who want to get out and enjoy the water. The Let’s go Fishing program is for all Seniors. The Let’s Go Fishing Pontoon is specially designed to provide full accessibility for Seniors. The Pontoon has been designed to accommodate Seniors by having higher rails, captain’s chairs, and wider door access to accommodate wheelchairs. We provide everything necessary for a fishing, or boating tour, including rods, reels, bait, life preservers, beverages and a snack. The only thing you need if you want to fish, is a Minnesota Fishing License where required**.
